Kashmiri Doctor Arrested in Faridabad; Around 360 kg of Explosives and Weapons Recovered
Faridabad (Haryana) – November 10, 2025

In a major security operation, police in the Delhi-National Capital Region have apprehended a Kashmiri medical doctor and recovered an extensive cache of explosives and weapons from a rented flat in Faridabad, Haryana.

Arrest & Recovery

According to law-enforcement sources, the suspect, identified as a doctor from Jammu & Kashmir, was detained after a joint investigation by the Haryana Police and the Jammu & Kashmir Police. The raid resulted in the seizure of approximately 360 kg of suspected ammonium-nitrate type material, which is commonly used in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Alongside the explosives, the police uncovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition, including rifles (one report mentions an AK-47 style weapon), pistols, 83 live rounds, bomb-timers, batteries, walkie-talkies and other devices.

The incriminating material was reportedly found at a flat rented by the doctor near the Al-Falah University area in Faridabad.

Investigation & Links

Sources suggest that the arrested doctor might be part of a larger terror module, potentially linked across states and possibly to cross-border elements. Intelligence officials believe the scale of the explosives and the presence of bomb-making materials indicate preparations for large-scale coordinated attacks in the NCR region.

A senior police officer described the bust as a “major blow to a sleeper cell network” operating under the cover of professionals and educated persons.

Public Safety Implications

Security analysts emphasize that the seizure of over 300 kg of ammonium-nitrate type material is significant, given the destructive potential of such explosives. The discovery has triggered heightened alert levels across Delhi, Haryana and neighbouring regions.

Local authorities are reportedly conducting forensic analysis on the seized material to determine its precise chemical composition and intended use, while also tracing the supply network and funding behind the module.

Response & Next Steps

Law-enforcement officials say more arrests are expected in the coming days as the probe expands across other states. The doctor remains in custody and is being questioned for his role, associations and the origin of the arms and explosives.

Meanwhile, the region’s security apparatus has been put on alert. Officials have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods. A higher-level review of security at educational institutions, rented residences and among professionals is reportedly underway.

This unfolding case underscores the growing challenge of security agencies in detecting non-traditional terror networks that may operate under professional covers, including among doctors and other educated individuals. The integration of explosives, weapons and sophisticated communication devices in one operation suggests the module was in an advanced stage of planning.

We will continue to monitor and update as further verified details become available.
