Six Equity Mutual Funds Cross ₹80,000 Crore AUM as Four Schemes Surpass ₹1 Lakh Crore
India’s equity mutual fund segment continues to see substantial concentration of assets in some of the country’s largest schemes. As of July 31, 2026, six equity-oriented mutual fund schemes had accumulated assets under management (AUM) of more than ₹80,000 crore, with four of them managing more than ₹1 lakh crore each. The figures are based on data from ACE MF cited in the Economic Times report.
The latest AUM figures highlight the scale reached by several established mutual fund schemes across different investment categories. While flexi-cap funds account for a significant portion of the list, the group also includes a balanced advantage fund, a mid-cap fund, a hybrid scheme and a large-cap fund.
Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund Leads the Group
Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund remained the largest scheme among the six by assets managed. Its AUM stood at ₹1.48 lakh crore at the end of July 2026, rising from ₹1.43 lakh crore a month earlier.
The scheme was also identified as the largest active fund and the largest flexi-cap fund by assets under management in the data cited by the report. Its position at the top places it significantly ahead of the other schemes in the group.
Flexi-cap funds have the flexibility to invest across large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap companies, allowing fund managers to adjust allocations based on market opportunities and their investment strategy.
Three HDFC Schemes Above ₹1 Lakh Crore
Three schemes from HDFC Mutual Fund also featured among the biggest funds in the list, each with AUM above ₹1 lakh crore.
HDFC Flexi Cap Fund had assets of ₹1.10 lakh crore as of July 31. HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund followed with ₹1.07 lakh crore, while HDFC Mid Cap Fund recorded ₹1.05 lakh crore.
The presence of three schemes from the same fund house underscores the large scale achieved by HDFC Mutual Fund across different categories. The three funds also represent distinctly different investment approaches, ranging from diversified equity exposure through flexi-cap investing to a balanced advantage strategy and dedicated mid-cap exposure.
Together with Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, these three HDFC schemes formed the top four funds that had crossed the ₹1 lakh crore AUM threshold as of the end of July.
SBI Equity Hybrid Fund Crosses ₹88,000 Crore
SBI Equity Hybrid Fund occupied the next position among the six schemes. Its AUM stood at ₹88,035 crore on July 31, 2026.
The fund had recorded AUM of ₹85,633 crore in April, according to the data reported by the Economic Times. The increase brought the scheme closer to the ₹90,000 crore milestone while keeping it comfortably above the ₹80,000 crore mark.
Unlike the flexi-cap and mid-cap schemes in the group, SBI Equity Hybrid Fund belongs to the hybrid category. Its inclusion shows that large asset bases are not limited to pure equity strategies and can also be seen in funds combining equity and other asset classes.
ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund at ₹80,960 Crore
ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund completed the list of six schemes with an AUM of ₹80,960 crore as of July 31.
The fund had reported assets of ₹79,420 crore in April, meaning its AUM had moved above the ₹80,000 crore level by the end of July. It was the only large-cap fund among the six schemes highlighted in the report.
The crossing of the ₹80,000 crore threshold puts the scheme in a relatively small group of equity mutual funds with exceptionally large asset bases.
What the AUM Numbers Show
The latest figures provide a snapshot of how large some individual mutual fund schemes have become in India. Four schemes have moved beyond ₹1 lakh crore in AUM, while two more have crossed ₹80,000 crore.
However, AUM alone should not be treated as a measure of investment performance or as an indication that a particular mutual fund is suitable for every investor. A fund’s asset size can reflect several factors, including investor flows and changes in the market value of its portfolio.
Investors generally need to consider factors such as investment objective, risk level, portfolio composition, expense ratio, historical performance, investment horizon and their own financial goals before selecting a mutual fund.
The July 2026 data nevertheless demonstrates the growing scale of India’s mutual fund industry, with multiple individual schemes now managing assets worth tens of thousands of crores.
