ESDS Software Shares Surge Over 230% After Listing as Brokerage Sees More Upside
ESDS Software Solution has delivered a spectacular post-listing performance, with its shares hitting the upper circuit for the fourth consecutive trading session. The newly listed stock has now climbed more than 230% from its IPO issue price, putting it firmly in the spotlight among investors tracking recent market debuts.
The company’s shares continued their remarkable upward journey on Wednesday, September 9, as buying interest remained strong. The stock reached the 10% upper circuit at ₹1,418.50 on the NSE. This came after the stock had previously touched the 20% upper circuit in each of its first three trading sessions.
ESDS Stock Delivers Massive Post-IPO Rally
ESDS Software Solution entered the stock market on September 4 with considerable investor attention following the strong response to its initial public offering.
The IPO was priced in the range of ₹408 to ₹429 per share, with ₹429 being the final issue price. When trading began on the NSE, ESDS shares opened at ₹757, representing a premium of 76.46% over the issue price. On the BSE, the stock debuted at ₹746.30, also substantially above its IPO price.
Since then, the momentum has barely slowed.
From the IPO price of ₹429 to Wednesday's level of ₹1,418.50, the stock had gained approximately 230.65%. In just a handful of sessions, the share price has therefore more than tripled from the level at which IPO investors received their shares.
Fourth Straight Upper Circuit
Wednesday marked the fourth consecutive session in which ESDS shares hit their permitted upper price limit.
There was, however, a change in the daily trading band. During the previous three sessions, the stock had been locked in a 20% upper circuit. On Wednesday, the applicable price band was revised to 10%, with the stock once again reaching that ceiling.
The extraordinary price action highlights the level of demand surrounding the newly listed technology company.
ESDS operates in areas including AI-enabled cloud services, managed services, data-centre infrastructure and software solutions. These segments have attracted increasing investor attention as businesses expand their digital infrastructure and computing requirements.
Brokerage Still Sees Room for Growth
Despite the dramatic rise since the IPO, analysts at Choice Institutional Equities remain positive on the company.
The brokerage has initiated coverage on ESDS with a Buy recommendation and assigned a target price of ₹1,550 per share. Based on the stock's Wednesday level of ₹1,418.50, that target represents roughly another 9% potential upside.
Choice's valuation approach is based on 18 times estimated FY28 EBITDA, with the brokerage highlighting ESDS's exposure to cloud computing, data-centre infrastructure and AI-related opportunities.
The brokerage expects the company's growth to benefit from expansion in capacity, stronger monetisation of its customer base and improving operating leverage. It has also pointed to a $1.25 billion AI contract as an important potential contributor to the company's future earnings trajectory.
Strong IPO Demand Set the Stage
The enthusiasm around ESDS did not begin after listing. The IPO itself attracted substantial demand from investors.
The public issue was subscribed 135.88 times by the final day of bidding, demonstrating the strong appetite for the company's offering. ESDS raised ₹720 crore through the IPO, which consisted of a fresh issue of shares rather than an offer-for-sale component.
The strong subscription numbers were followed by an equally impressive market debut, giving the stock considerable momentum from its first trading session.
What Is Driving Investor Interest?
ESDS's business places it at the intersection of several rapidly developing technology themes, particularly cloud infrastructure, AI computing and data centres.
The company provides a combination of cloud, managed infrastructure, data-centre services and software solutions. Its positioning in these areas has become an important part of the bullish investment argument surrounding the stock.
Choice has projected substantial growth in ESDS's revenue, EBITDA and profit after tax over FY26-FY29. According to the brokerage's estimates, these metrics could grow at compound annual growth rates of 120.9%, 72.6% and 81.3%, respectively, during the period.
However, those projections are estimates rather than guarantees. The stock's extraordinary rise in a very short period also means investors are now evaluating the company's future growth against a sharply higher market valuation.
Investors Face an Important Question
ESDS's performance has created a striking contrast between its IPO price and its current market value. What began as a strong listing has quickly turned into one of the most eye-catching post-IPO rallies in the market.
The brokerage's ₹1,550 target suggests that Choice still sees some room for appreciation. At the same time, the magnitude and speed of the rally underline why investors need to consider valuation, execution and future earnings rather than relying solely on recent price performance.
For potential investors, the key question is no longer simply whether ESDS has momentum. It is whether the company can deliver the growth required to support its significantly higher valuation.
The ESDS rally remains one of the standout stories among India's recent IPOs, and the coming trading sessions could reveal whether the extraordinary momentum can continue or whether investors begin booking profits after the stock's explosive run.
